Hospital of the German Federal Armed Forces in Berlin
Construction of a new examination area and intensive care unit, refurbishment of the surgical department
We were assigned project management tasks to complete on behalf of the Federal Office for Building and Regional Planning (BBR). As a pilot project, the coordination between all project participants initially took place entirely online via an internet platform. The hospital remained open during the implementation of all measures. We were additionally tasked with the interface coordination for the various individual projects being carried out at the site simultaneously.
The Hospital of the German Federal Armed Forces provides basic medical care (220 beds) and also has numerous specialist departments. A multitude of individual construction measures had to be coordinated. Particular mention should be made here of the construction of a new examination area, hospital ward and intensive care unit and refurbishment of the surgical department. Further individual construction measures included refurbishment measures in accordance with monument protection as well as the construction of a new central cooling system and goods receiving centre.
