Refurbishment and expansion of the retail area
Göppingen railway station is a through station on the Fils Valley Railway. Opened in 1850, it is on the line that runs between Stuttgart and Ulm. The station is situated on the southern outskirts of Göppingen and has a total of seven platform tracks. It comprises a station building with a restaurant, two kiosks, a bakery, a bookshop and a DB travel centre. The former baggage and express freight hall is today no longer in use. Between 90 and 100 trains stop at Göppingen station every day, including some of the Intercity and Eurocity trains that run between Stuttgart and Ulm.
