Building façade
Construction of a new residential building with condominiums at the Mauerpark
Between 1961 and 1989, a section of the Berlin Wall ran along the southern side of Bernauer Straße. The street of 1.4 km in length became the setting for numerous escapes – and escape attempts – to West Berlin. In 1998, the Berlin Wall Memorial was erected on Bernauer Straße as a central place of remembrance of the division of Germany.
A striking new 8-storey sculptural building has now been erected at Bernauer Straße 50 on the history-rich corner plot, at the crossroads with Schwedter Straße. With a total size of 534 m², the ground floor is exclusively intended for commercial purposes; below this is an underground garage with 23 parking spaces. A total of 20 apartments are available from the first floor up, spread over seven floors. There are five apartments on the first floor, three apartments each on the second to fourth floors, and two apartments together with a maisonette gallery condominium on the fifth floor. The sixth and seventh floors house three maisonette penthouses, each with their own roof terrace. A total of 263.1 m² of commercial space and 2,084.9 m² of living space are thus available throughout the entire building.
